THEME
TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED DURING THIS THEME
Here are tasks to be accomplished during this theme. You
will need to work out when each task will be done, how long to spend on each
task so that each one is finished in the eight weeks you have to do them in.
Each task is worth a certain amount of points so if you are running out of time,
it is best to concentrate on the ones you can achieve the most points for most
easily!
You will be given time in school to work on these tasks. You may also work on
them in your own spare time in school and will definitely need to spend some
time at home on them!!
Task 1 20 points
Note Taking You will be taught how
to takes notes during this theme. When the class has practised on the
first 2 paragraphs of the Information on
Spiders, you will complete the
note taking and rewrite the information in your own words.

Task 2 25 points
Identifying Spiders You must find and
identify 5 different spiders. BE CAREFUL, DO NOT TOUCH ANY SPIDERS WHILE
IDENTIFYING THEM!! You must use the sheet given to you to list the
spiders characteristics, name etc.

Task 3 30 points
Spider Project You will select a spider
and do a project in your Project Book on that spider. You must select a
different sort of spider than is on our Spider Web Pages. Refer to the
sheet given to you on how to set out your project.

Task 4 100 points
Spider Web Pages You must finish
the activities that go with our Spider Web Pages: www.powerup.com.au/~glen/spider.htm
. You will be given time on Group Day to work on these, or in your spare
time.

Task 5 25 points
Spider Diagram You
must draw a diagram of a spider in your Project Book and label all the
external (outside) parts e.g pedipalps, chelicerae etc. Make sure all the
spelling is correct. You must also write down each part and give a brief
description of what each part is used for.
