Comments: Thanks fo ryour site and the fantastic photos. I had a
very large (think Arachnophobia) in my kitchen cupboard tonight (I was
too busy screaming like a
banchee to take a good look at it or take any photos) and so while I
wait up all night holding vigil to make sure this thing doesn't venture
out before I can call
the exterminator tomorrow, I decided to see what kind of spider it is
(so I can let the exterminator know what kind of poison to use to kill
it dead dead dead).
I feel encouraged that it doesn't seem to be a poisonous kind. It looks
like a mother, monster, radio-active balck widow minus any red markings
(and the fact that htis thing had like a 3"-4" leg span). I don't see a
picture of this spider anywhere on your
site, but I wasn't really taking stock of all it's attributes. Enough
rambling... I have to say that your site has the best and most
informative photos of any site I saw tonight. Alot of other sites have
meandering descriptions from textbooks
or really poor sketches. But your site lets me get up close and
personal.
Thanks!

Comments: While on a camping trip in the fall of 2004 with my Girls
Scouts we found a large red, yellow, and balck spider hanging out in the
port o potty. My Girl
Scouts promptly made a sign that said poisonous spider do not use. We
took pictures of it and forgot about it until now. Thanks for your help
in identifying our beautiful Marbled Orb Weaver. I am very happy to tell
the girls it was non venomous. I have a new appreciation for spiders.

Comments: My son is 6 and loves spiders. Every summer we collect the
spiders in and around our house, study them and return them to the wild.
It seems the only way I can get him interested in school is to do it
through using spiders. We love your site!!!

for my children to learn about the different spiders in Australia and
more importantly about how to deal with first aid if bitten. I think Ive
