Comments:  We have a spider we coined "Charlotte" (of course), outside our front door. We did not have a clue what type she/he was, and that's how we came upon your site. We have since found out, with the help of your site, we have an Orb Spider. We enjoy watching her, build her web, and catch her prey. I am not a fan of spiders, but we can view her safely through the glass. Thank you for helping us out. Sincerely, Kim & son Noah

Comments: I have a question. There is a spider in my apartment and I have no idea what kind it is. It has a red abdomen, black thorax and kind of beige colored legs. It has these two really big (in porportion to it's body) from feelers or fangs or something. It's small, only about a half an inch at most. I am just trying to figure out whether it's dangerous or not.  I don't have my digital camera or I would take a picture. Does the description help at all?
Please email me and let me know. Thanks.

Comments: I'm trying to identify a spider I found in my house recently, any help would be greatly appreciated.... It was VERY large, about the size of an american half dollar, had a large body, not round, more oblong, and it had black& brown stripes running down it's body. I think I saw large fangs but can't be sure,I didn't get close(spiders terrify me,even itsy bitsy ones),unfortunately for the spider(but fortunately for me) my cat caught it, and I
killed it. The cat would have eaten it otherwise. Anyway I'm not sure if it was poisionous or if it would bite or what. Any help would be great, Thanks.

Comments:  Thank you for helping me identify the spider I "spied" in the yard this morning. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in California, near Yosemite National Park. I have lived in this town for over 40 years; I have never seen a "Black and Yellow Argiope" and was so creeped out this morning that I couldn't even go outside. I'm much better now that I know what it is and maybe now I can go out and mow the lawn. :) Thanks again and I want to say that I was very impressed with your page. You have done a wonderful job - tell the kids to keep it up!
