was truly worth it... One suggestion though... I think that it
would be more educational and interesting if the different systems
of the spider was discussed (such as reproductive, circulatory, etc)
Thanx!

We have an american tarantula who hitched a ride out of the Arizona desert in our sleeping bag,
then our trunk for about
2 moths!till we saved him, and set up a terrarium. He eats crickets by the dozens, although
never when we are around
and is so interesting to just sit and watch. He's been doing fine for almost a year.

Comments: Hey! I realy enjoyed your web site. It could have even saved my life. Once the
strangest thing happend. Spiders has always been my life, well besides comic books. Any ways one
day some one from my dad's work caught a spider in thier basement and put it inside a jar. They
said it was a wolf spider but it did not apear to reseble one to me. The next day I desided to
take it to class I started to think about what type of spider it could have been after a while I
discovered it looked alot like a Funnel Web I was very exited, but when I got home I looked it
up on the Internet found this web site and compared it with a picture you had. I was so
scared.Even if there is a antedote they would not carry it in America. Who knows what would have
happened if I had not known what that was. One night my mom lifted the lid on the jar and it
suddenly got in the ready to STRIKE possition. I can't tell you how scared I was I didn't scream
but I could here my heart beat very clearly I put the lid back on and no one was hurt but I
can't immagin what would happen if I didn't know what it was.

Comments: Hello, my name is Troy, and I am 17. This is the awesomest page for younger
students to learn about these relatively harmless grouping of animals. I currently only own 1
tarantula, a Chilean Rosehair (Grammostola ssp. I do not know the exact latin because mine is a
variation, a hybrid if you will), but am planning on getting a Rio Grande Coppeback (Aphonopelma
texensis). I love tarantulas especially because theyget so large, and are extremely easy to
care for. Eventually I plan on having 5 tarantulas in my collection, the two I mentioned, and a
Brazilian black (Grammostola pulchra), a Trinidad Chevron (Doubtfully, as these are VERY
aggressive spiders), maybe a Peruvian giant Pinktoe (Avicularia urticans), and maybe another
desert species. I would like to emphasize what natural vivria does for an arachnids life span
and well being, I have come up with a term for such vivaria, the "Tarantularium." You simply
take the arachnids natural surrounding, and reproduce it in a suitably sized cage.
