Comments: My co-worker came in screaming about the brown hairy tarantula that guarded the phone when she tried to answer it at her apartment this morning. Having just emerged from the shower, her first act was to scream for the exterminator...reminded me of a scene from Arachnaphobia!! Anyway, we were trying to identify the spider, and based on her description, thought it to be a type of wolf spider, something we have a lot of here in Salt Lake City. --- Thanks for a great site, and all the wonderful info, and helping us eliminate her worries that this was some giant woman-killing tarantula or wierd warped phone-guarding black widow, etc. --Paul

Comments: I found this site most informative when I came looking for information on the Funnel Web. An excellent job has been done and all involved should be commended. In fact it has now led me to do a little more research on the wolf spider *smiles*. A piece of information I would have found interesting would have been the actual size of the funnel web, which I seem to have trouble locating. Thanks again.

Comments: We just moved to Florida last year and were looking for information on the poisonous spiders in this area. It's rather funny that we had to go to Australia to find the information, but we're glad you made this page.
The information presented was informative, interesting and well presented. Your embedded links fit perfectly into the information flow.
We've printed your pages on the Black Widow and Brown Recluse as well as the information on bites and now have them hanging in our kitchen for a quick reference in case of emergency.
Thank you for this site!

Comments: From childhood I have had EXTREME fear of spiders. But as I have matured this fear has evolved into a kind of fascination. My daughter and grandson came over tonight with a good sized spider they found in their house, so we came here to look around. Thanks! (couldn't I.D. it for sure but I will probably have nightmares tonight!)

Comments: Thanks for the info on spiders. I have pretty bad arachnophobia which I can recognize but I can't seem to conquer. Ypur page was very informative, but i was a little disappointed. i was looking to see which poisonous spiders live in my area and there were no maps or other references to where the spiders reside outside of Australia. Other than that, great page. Maybe a few too many graphic pictures... well I suppose that is my opinion.

Comments: Thanks for a most informative and comprehensive web page. My son, Richard, got a bite from what was believed to be a wolf spider while he was working at Tomahawk Scout Reservation in Northern Wisconsin. It looks very swollen and inflamed and the doctor has him on antibiotics. It's nice to know he won't die unless he is related to a Lab. Thanks again for your excellent work.
