Comments: I need help identifing a spider found in a florist shop. It is about 3/4 inch long. slightly hairy, black and brown ringed legs. The top section mostly dark black with a whitish line along the front. the bottom (thorax?) on the top, has a design with like lines that go down almost paralell to the ground I can see several rows. In the middle not quite on the top is a light brown spot. there are two more light brown spots on either side of the lower end of the butt with a black line going up between the two light colored light brown spots. Underneath there is a y shaped darker brown marking. the side underneath the other section is black. I thought perhaps it might be related to the wolf spider?? It doesn't have long legs tho.

Comments: Thank you so much for a very informative page. I was looking for info on the
white-tail spider, as I believe I was bitten by one last night. After going to the bathroom a
white-tail was found crawling up the wall, from the spot I had just been. I then discovered a
large red swollen area on my abdomen, which became very itchy and when I scratched, burned like
****, sorry! Soon afterwards I also started with an intense migraine, which I still have some
15-16 hours later. The swelling has reduced, but the rash is still quite apparent and is
spreading. My husband contacted our local hospital, but they did not seem interested in me at
all. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

spider". This was difficult because I couldn't find the cellar-I finally found out that it's
other name is the Daddy Long legged spider. So your information on the DLL was really good. My
