Comments: This morning I found a huntsman spider (medium
size) in the kitchen - I have a feeling he has been around the house for a few
weeks - but this is the first time I have actually seen him. I thought about
getting rid of him - but decided to leave him for a while - eyes kept going to
him however - I'm sure you know what I mean. When he started to do some
'contortions' I couldn't keep from not watching him - and then had the joy of
nature - he
"climbed" out of his old skin and left it on the wall. He stayed around his old
skin for a while - probably waiting for the new skin to "dry" ??? Marvelous. I
went on the Internet to find out what I could about Huntsman spiders and found
your page - It told me just what I wanted to know. I've had a browse around the
website and think it's great. If you have researched Huntsman spiders can you
tell me ??? I've called "him" a "him - and if he stays a "he" I don't mind him
staying around (for a while anyway), but if ! "he" turns out to be a "she" - I
really don't fancy 200 little ones around the place. How can I tell whether it's
a male or a female? Thanks for the page and keep up the good work - sounds like
an ideal class project page.

Comments: It is wonderful to see young ones interested in one
of earths most important creature. My first encounter with a spider in the wild
was a Barking Spider up in Cairns QLD. I was 12 years old. Its leg span was
about 10cm, BIG, Hairy and Scary.
As a spider enthusiast I have found that your web site is one the most
informative across the board. My favourite spiders are Tarantula's, Golden Orb
Weavers and Trap doors. Well really, anything with eight legs!!
