Found: Searching for percentage of poisonous spiders in Illinois Brown
recluse more common in Illinois than what was first believed.
Phrase: Fantastic!
Comments: The well known Brown Recluse spider is quite common in
Illinois, more common than what the record books show. Every summer
there are several cases that hit the headlines and notices are posted to
heed the warnings, tell tale signs of recluse bite and identification.
We also have numerous black widow bites in the area. As recirds and
statistics have it for some reason their ( the recluse and the
widow)population has gone unnoticed in the record books and geographical
indexing. I hope they realize that
Illinois, both Northern and Southern Counties has it's fair amount of
Brown Recluse as well as Black Widow bites.

I used to be very phobic of spiders, but through the help of your page,
i've been able to desensitize myself to them. I have always been
facinated by spiders, but was to scared to get up close to them, i'm now
able to do this and i have on many occasions now. again, keep up
the great work on the site, i always check it at least once a week to
see any new changes

Comments: Thanks! If it wasn't for this website I will never know about
the orb weaver spider, that I found at school on the ceilling. He was
almost dead and I healed
him back to health. Then I lost him somewhere in my room, because it is
winter time and I not going put him outside. Now I worried that I
accident kill him in my room. I miss that spider, he was the best spider
I ever met. Also I'm learn lots new things about spiders on this
website. I love spiders doesn't matter they might be deadly or not.
Spiders are amazing, artistic, beautiful, speacil, and different
cearture in the world. How can anyone hate them. If you get to know a
spider who they are, not by what species they are, you love spiders too.

Comments: Thanks muchly for all the pictures on your site, last
night i was at home by myself when i saw a HUGE furry like spider
crawling just above my bed.. petrified i grabbed a container to take it
back outside in and took a photo as i had no idea what kind of spider
this seriously scary things could be and of course, incase it decided to
bite me.. But know i feel that all that fear may have been a little
undue as it was
only a huntsman.. but massive! Anyway thanx for allowing me to identify
it so quickly.. ill be sure to keep looking around!!

Comments: I currently keep several inverts as pets and it's great to see
a site that specializes in local species. Here in NJ we commonly see
Funnel Weavers, Yellow Sac Spiders, American House Spiders and several
kinds of Orb Weavers and Jumping
Spiders. I've spent many hours in the summertime observing these amazing
little animals, and I even had an orb weaver make it's home on my front
porch for most of the past summer!

Comments: Great site! I caught a spider in my basement, and I'm trying
to I.D. it. Can Wolf Spiders be found on the East Coast of the USA? I
see that you say they are from Australia, but you also have the Wolf
Spider listed under "Common Spiders of the USA". My dad is an
arachniphobiac, so I have to throw it in the woods now. Ciao, Emily
