Comments: I really need to know what kind of spider I have. Unfortunately I don't have a
digital camera or I'd send you a picture. Maybe you can help me from my description.
The spider is very large. It's span is sometimes as large as a baby food jar lid. It is brown
with a cream or light tan vertical stripe down its back. It is quite fast. It does not look
like the Brown Recluse, and it's legs are too course to be a daddy long legs. I mostly see them
in the house, but the siding is cedar and they are on the outside as well. I also need to know
if they are harmful. I live in deep South Texas in case that helps. I can't seem to find a
spider like it on the net. Do you have any ideas? If you could email me with your answer I
would appreciate it. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Comments: Could not access any info. re bites from white tailed spider. We breed them here!
Anyone want them? We also have trap-door spiders by the hundreds. Why all of a sudden are we
noticing so many holes in our land made by them? Your pages are really great but please, what
about the bite from a white tailed spider or what do you do if a trap door spider takes a fancy
to you? We tell our new neighbours, please, always wear long rubber gloves(obtained at Safeway,
in green and sometimes pink, that go up over your wrist, in the garden and getting wood from
woodsheds. Will access your web site very soon. It is a credit to you and all who participated.
Thanks heaps! from Leesa

Comments: I don't think that window spiders are only in the southern hemisphere. In fact, the
Black House spider (window) was found by my neighbor. Regretfully, the spider was a genius and
found a way to escape its tupperware confinement. None the less, we could not take a picture of
it. If its possible, I'd like for you to look into that and conact me at Amooreskip@aol.com. See
Yah and Keep up the good work.

Comments: Everything you have is wonderfull, I never tought that there were a lot of them!.
Since I was a child, I have interested in the spiders: what do they eat?, their habitats, etc.
What is the most amaizing for me, is the moment that the spider traps its victim.
Talking apart, I would like to know about "losu celex" spider (how is it) becouse I noticed
that a person died due a bite of that spider. Thanks!

Comments: We were looking for infomation that might be helpful to my 81 year old aunt who
lives on the top floor of a senior citizen apartment building. Every night, she claims to see
one or two spider in her bedroom. The management insists that this is her imagination since
they use pesticides to eliminate insects and spiders. She was told by her nephew that spiders
can resist pesticides by rolling up in a ball and not inhaling them. Is this true?
Reply: I don't know about holding their breaths but we had certainly had red backs in our classroom that have survived the Pest Man, so it is possible!!
