Comments: I was especially interested in the tree dwelling funnel-web spider..I have seen pictures on t.v. of this fascinating creature, yet find it incredible that the tree dweller is deadlier than the Sydney funnel web. I live in Buffalo, New York and I hope I don't ever bump into a tree dwelling funnel web. Have you ever seen one in the wild? I like your site...it is very informative. Thank you.

Comments: Hi, I live in Aliso Viejo, CA, and I just found an Austailian spider outside of our work here. I think it's strange that's it's in our neighborhood, but I suppose if it can't hurt us really than it's all good. I personally don't like spiders one bit, and after seeing this one I'm terrified now. Only because the creature is soooooo big. Back to your site though. What a great informative site. I was pleased to see my spider on your site, and how I found out all I needed to know--like it wouldn't hurt me. lol. Thank you again

Comments:  I've always had a tremendous respect for spiders (and an even greater fear!!!), but now that I know more about them, I have even MORE respect for them! I found exactly the information I was looking for when trying to find out what kind of spider has weaved a
web beside my front porch. I thought it was a banana spider, but it's an argiope! My 2 year old granddaughter and I watched the spider delicately weave her web this morning, and I was very intrigued by it. I'd never personally seen a spider do that before. Watching her legs weave the web reminded me of someone knitting or crocheting!! Thank you for all the wonderful information. You've all done a terrific job!!!

belly. Sorry I don't have pictures but they don't seem to turn out that well. And I am using a 4 megapixel camera. We see him on the front proch area of his house.

Comments: Hi there (ok Howdy). I just wanted to send a note to tell you and your students that I have really enjoyed your web-site. I came to it to try to ID a spider that I have never seen before. This area has a great many spiders including the 2 most poisonous: The Black Widow and the Brown Recluse.  Although I did not find a picture of one resembling the one I
found, I really enjoyed looking and reading at your site. Cheers to the kids; they must be truly blessed to have an educator such as you in their lives.

friends. I have to tell you that I am the world's worst arachnophobic (!!!) and I am due to visit Australia in March 2004 for the VERY FIRST TIME. I have to admist that I have avoided visiting your wonderful country literally all of my life because of the existence of your varied spider variety. I have read a lot about the red backed spider and the funnel web spider and I think I have scared myself through reading these not very helpful non-fiction books !

a spider that looks like a bubble with a very small head and rather strong venom. A very special friend of mine was bitten by a spider by this descripbtion 12 days ago and is still in a
very great deal of pain. Yes she has been to the doctor and they say there is nothing they can do. It is now affecting her coordination and she has fallen 2 or 3 times since last evening.

I live in england and have a pet House Spider although i am not currently entirely sure which sp. of house spider it is, if i can get some pictures i will send them in. But i think that they are amazing animals and totally underated and over publicised as dangerous nasty animals.

Comments: What beautiful photos you have on this site. I've always been facinated by spiders since I can remember. Although I was a bit afraid of them when I was young, I later overcame that fear because I realized the only reason I was afraid of them was because they can bite. And most are no more harmful than a mosquito. They are really increadible creatures and beautiful too. Also very good for the environment. I usually let them stay in
my house because I don't mind them. Althought now I have to keep them out because I'm dating someone who is terrified of them. Anyway, Love the site I will visit here often.

Comments: i LURVE the comments in your choices. gr8!!! i was looking throo all this and i am in yr 9, i am 14yrs old. and i have never found out thuis much about spiders n e wer. if this is what your yr5s can do, i can;t bear to think about the standard of your school. wish my school was that good, i would be a lot better off now! c, wats rong is, i live in england. and about 5 minutes ago sum weird white spider with long clear legs and brown kneecaps just bit my leg and tried to crawl into my mouth. I didnt know n e wer to find out about the spider exept 4 ur page. it wasnt actually on here but thx 4 the help n e way. this website is really cool and who evers idea it was to do a website on spiders for a lil kids skool is so gr8! n e way. moving on to constructive criticism, i think that the links should be closer to the top oif the home page and the bit about buyin stuff at the bottom because then the links would be easier to find, i also think that the backgroubd to the table where the links are shouldnt be black maybe even dark blue or purple but i think black isnt a very good colour because most of the backgrounds to the photos are dark, they dont stand out as much.
