Comments: It's great to see school children receiving hands-on experiences with science/nature topics! Science is the key to the future, and children need to be
encouraged in this field as much as possible! I am a stay-at-home Mom that occasionally does volunteer work at my childrens' schools. It disturbs me to see kids
that won't think about getting their hands dirty and dislike going outside because we have become an electronic-media absorbed society. These type experiences open new
worlds to kids!

Comments: While your site was interesting and informative, I doubt I will be returning to it any time soon-- I have an overwhelming fear of anything with more than four
legs, and this site made me creepy-crawley for a week :oP At any rate, I would like some information regarding a spider I came across in my father's garage a few days
ago. Unfortunately, it scared me too badly to have the opportunity to take a picture, but it was the same size and shape as the common tarantulas in this area (far west
Texas/southern New Mexico desert) however, it wasn't hairy. Its body was about 4 or 5 inches long, and its legs could have easily made it double in size. It was a very
light grey or silver color with dark brown or black tiger stripes along its body and legs. I can be reached at andTHENshesez@aol.com if you have any information on what
this insanely creepy creature can be. Thank you so much!

that look almost like the brown recluse spider.I think they are wood spiders, but I couldn't find a picture. I will take one
and send it in. They are about 2 inches long.I dont think they are in my area (North Maryland-Pa. line).

Found: I was just looking for some information to identify the spider I caught.
Phrase: Fantastic!
Comments: I am terriified of spiders.I can't stand to have them around me, yet I can't kill them (most of the time). Yet, as much as I hate them, I have caught two in my
house in a weeks time. That was a hard task for me, but I just couldn't kill them. I just leave them in a glass jar and check on them each day to see what is new with
them. The one that I caught tonight was lucky enough to be trapped on a piece of paper as well as under a jar. He was startled enough that I was able to put a lid on the
jar. I have been watching it and I think that I have indentified it. I believe it to be either a sac spider or a ground spider although I am not possitive. Your web-site
is great, even though it gave me bad chills. Keep up the good work of educating people about spiders. Also, to anyone that doesn't understand the importance of my
catching the two spiders this week, they must not have ever seen a big spider run! Geeze these things are fast! ~Michelle Johnson

rot off from being bit by a wolf spider. I have been bitten a few times by house spiders,
possibly wolf spiders, and never had more than a slight swelling. Also, a tarantula's bite is
painful but usually do not cause hospitalization.
