Comments: spiders...YUCK! only good spider is a dead spider! Nice page but I still dont like the little demons. Folks say there are no black widows around our area... I've personally seen two -within a ten yr. period tho. A "friend" kept one in a jar as a pet. Sick guy!I'll admit I can kinda handle the green house ones...they arent too bad.Those big wolfy kind...no way.And that guy that lived upstairs from me and had a pet tarantula...thats just WRONG! actually was looking for bite info to send pics to someone and gross em out. Something that looked like a termite with a bee stinger got me tonite. I cant imagine a really bad spider bite...well I CAN
but would rather NOT. I'd rather keep a snake... now they're cool.

Are jumping spiders harmless? Will Black Widows kill my two small dogs that combined weigh in

Comments:  We seem to have an influx of black spiders, some as large as a quarter (if perimeter of legs were circled)with a white heart shape on the back with 2 small horizontal lines below that. On the belly of the spider are 2 slightly longer vertical lines. We are trying to determine if it is poisonous or not. Help!

Comments: have you ever run across a spider that consumes its web? a guess of mine was doing morning work out on my deck and saw a spider about the size and shape of a thumb nail, dismantling her web. sure enough the next morning i saw the same spider. she was a dark brown color me being a rank novice i did not note any distinguishing marks. regrettable she disappeared shortly after. love your site. onward jjh

Comments:  I have a spider in my house that i like to watch. it is about a cm long and is a tan color with white markings. i usually get ants from outside and drop it in its net so i can watch it wrap it up in the spider webs. i think im the only girl who really likes spiders.
