Found: I started with google.com and kept searching until I found a site
with a similar spider picture
Phrase: Fantastic!
Comments: Thanks. I found a beautiful orange spider with black
hieroglyphic-like markings on my porch--yesterday was Halloween and it fit in
perfectly. I am fighting a developer and was hoping since I had never seen one
like it in the 15 years I
lived here that it was an endangered species. But from what I can tell it is a
Marbled Orb
Weaver--although the ones pictured on your site are more yellow and the markings
are a bit different. Several other people from my general area have also
written to you and sent photoes--again similar but not exact--in the past month.
Perhaps the spiders move toward a heat source when fall comes. In any case, you
should be commended since I looked through the available "official" USA insect
web sites with no luck, yet you have pictures of spiders which live halfway
around the world from you. Also, adding the banner ad about AIDS was
great! Again, thanks.

Comments: I'm not big on spiders but your website is very helpful. I'm writing
because maybe you could help. I do not have a picture of the spider I keep
coming across every now and then. But when i do it ranges in sizes from a dime
to a quarter. The smaller ones are lighter in their color but move and act like
the big ones. The big ones are oranger with brown eyes and fangs i believe if
not pinchers in the front. 8 legs and a brown like belly. Sometimes light
oranger or deep brown orange. Please help. I get bitten during the night and
they are large red round spots that itch extremely worst than mositquitoes they
will leave the red dot up to a whole month before slowly disappearing off my
body. I don't see any in my bed when i go to sleep, but one night i believe i
was bite and had muscle reactions to it. my arm wound't stop flinching and my
head heart. i need to know if these things are biting me! please help thank you.

bed. Mom was here for a month and now I have her babes in waiting. I'm afraid it
may get damamged either accidentally by me when I am working in it or my cats or
the weather or??? Should I relocate it to a safer outdoor area? Can I bring it
inside so my grandchildren and I can watch it through the winter? I have a small
aquarium I can use. It is still attached to a dried daylily stalk but can be
easily moved without damaging it. Your spider pages were the answer to my
question as to the mom. I enjoyed her very much. I named her Beauty. She
was! I miss her still. But I was SO excited when I saw the sac and went back to
your info and verified what I thought. Now we would like to keep them safe.

disturbing. I am now filing a report on this website, and I'm going to bring you
down. This display of pictures has filled the minds of my patients, and it
interferes with the healing process. I hope you will take this seriously and put
a stop to this insanity.
Dr. J. Wanhoven
Reply: Hello Dr.,
If this is a serious email, then I would suggest that your patients
aren't forced to look at the site and should they do so, it is at
their own risk. Many people have written to say how it has helped with their
arachnophobia so I guess it works both ways,
