unsure what it's called. I know that it aired on Fear Factor once and
they had to eat them. I also know that they are large and have pinchers
on their legs. The front legs are bent and they act as arms with spikes.
Please let me know if anyone has ever heard on them before.

It looks so cool and no one have done a project on that type of spider.

Comments: Recently we have heard a lot of talk about a spider
called the Brown Recluse. A Swimming pool builder in Southern IL, was
the first case, with a leg almost amputated. We build pools in the
Southern IL, Northern KY, and Southern IN area a lot, ao this got our
attention. Since that report, we have since met an individual in our
area who was bitten on the toe. Just a couple days ago a family member
was bitten by a spider on her bottom. We are waiting to see the results
from that. She experience
flu like symptoms, became somewhat delirious, and swelling to the area.
It may have been a widow spider. However, it has been very common this
year which raised my interest to be aware of the dangers of these
spiders and to see what thay look like.
Thank you for your studies and great photo's! Shannon Kear-Deputy, IN

Comments: My daughters and I found 2 tiny spiders that looked like
creamy white crabs, with black spots. We wanted to know what kind of
spiders they are as we all love nature. We did find out what kind they
are. The many different pictures this site has of this spider was very
helpful as it comes in different colors. We live in Copperas Cove, which
is located in Central Texas. We are going to relocate the spiders to our
back yard where they will not be disturbed as often. We found them near
the walkway of our front porch. I enjoy teaching my children, including
the ones in my pre-school class, about nature science.

Comments: WOW! Great page. My mom just bought a house that has been
sitting a while. So i was looking out the back door at her new yard and
suddenly she tells me to get out of the way and pushes me to the side.
After getting over the shock of what the heck she was doing she was
spraying bug spray like crazy. When the fog cleared we were looking at
two black glossy spiders with small red dot looking markings on their
backs. So I told her I would go home and look them up, and here I am
thankful to have not been bitten by the black widow. Thank you for
sharing info. Now i can go tell my mother this and to watch out and have
her house sprayed. I will have this info and pics in head for the rest
of my life I am sure. Now if anyone asks about spiders I can honestly
say " Hey, I know this great website and......"
