Comments: I have a red chilean tarantua as a pet and I was looking to see what kind of information I could find out about her. Her name is Rosebud and she lets me hadle her sometimes, but sometimes she won't come out of her cage. I don't force her either. Great website . It was good to see what I should do if she ever bites me. :)

Comments: Two years ago I suffered a Stroke. Family tell me I am afraid of spiders...I was looking for a description of a spider that I have only starting seeing here and I wanted to know what kind of spider it was and if I should be afaid of it. This spider is grey/brown and has stripes on back, body like an ant, pichers, and stands and defends itself. It appears to jump, but, I am not sure that it is a jumping spider. They started showing up in my home last summer and I don't recall ever seeing them before. They are not too big, and I caught two - one I had to kill - on closer examination, the one I killed had white hairs (like a halo) around the front end. The other doesn't appear to have the white hairs. Is there someplace I can take them to identify them?

Comments: I found the biggest spider I have ever seen in my house and thought I'd look it up. Your page didn't show one, but I enjoyed your research. Maybe you could include my spider on your page. It was three inches across, dark brown with light brown stripes on its legs. This was no tarantula! And yes, it did scare me!

Comments: We like all the work you've done here! We caught a spider yesterday and didn't know what it was, so we surfed the net to find out. Your site told us it's a BROWN RECLUSE!!! We fed it a fly tonight, and it ate it right away. We found it at our front door, making a web right across the doorway! Glad we found it first! Thanks for the great website! You really helped us out a lot!!! Bye!

Comments: Great site, my main reason in visiting was that my wife was allegedly bitten by a White Tail Spider, only allegedly because we have no proof it was a spider bite. She fell ill in mid February 1998, went to hospital twice in agony, the second time was operated on to remove the dead flesh from her leg. All symptoms point to a WTS but no proof. Since reading your article on the symptoms and patients being given creams, anti biotics etc. everything seems to point to the WTS. The wound was very slow healing and even now in June 1998, it still causes her concern because of the itching it causes. Thanks very much for the info!

Comments: You have an excellent and informative page. It is well done and was needed by Margaret and I. We were picking strawberries and she saw this pretty!?!?!? spider. She came to me to show what she had found. I burned it and its eggs because we (her dauthers and their sons and daughters) were picking a very generous crop of berries. You would have liked that. They were very large, about ping pong ball size. She did not know what a black widow spider looked like. After surfing for quite a while, yours was the only page that was complete (with useful pics) and handy (in case anyone had been bitten). You and your teacher have been very useful for me and mine. Thank you. We grow canna as a hobby. I will try to send you a pic. Thanks again. Ed and Margaret
