Comments: You know, although highly informative, I was looking more for info on spiders in the New York region. I have moved here recently and have seen quite a few spiders, quite frankly, more than I care to. They keep finding their way into my truck,and spinning their webs, making it impossible for me to get in, without getting "caught". There are also quite a few different species that live in the building, I just want to know if there is a possibility of a dangerous one or two. I have a four year old who loves to explore. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Comments: I'm totally terrified of spiders, but had to take a look.
I've been working in my yard and keep seeing a certain type of spider.
I didn't worry too much because they were pretty small. But
yesterday I saw one that had a body that was about 1 1/2-2". It
was the biggest of this kind I had seen. It was light brown, with
a dark brown strip down the back of its body. I'm sure it is
harmless. Would you have any ideas on what it is?
