Comments: Thank you for your excellent information and photos on the Brown Recluse spider. Black widows are common in Colorado, and they're starting to come indoors as our winter approaches. But we were not sure whether Colorado has Brown Recluse spiders, and did not know what they looked like until finding your website. Keep up the good work!

Here at the Colorado Space Grant Program, college students, mostly undergradutes, design, manufacture, launch, fly, and analyze data from space experiments which fly on sub-orbital sounding rockets and the Space Shuttle. Currently our students are developing a small Earth-orbiting satellite which will be launched in October 1999. The satellite is called the "Citizen Explorer," and will measure ozone and other constituents of the upper atmosphere, broadcasting to K-12 students world wide. Sign on to our Colorado Space Grant home page at the url above to check out the Citizen Explorer and other cool space projects!

Enjoyed your page very much....I'd appreciate some further info on proper care of a second instar Goliath Birdeater (Theraphosa blondi). How to clean the cage of such an aggressive spider as well as tips on proper care for health and how to achieve maximum growth. You needn't waste your time on the basics...I'm somewhat of a successful veteran on tarantula care, I've just never owned a spider so eager to take a bite of me.

They were large, black with yellow dots on their underside, and yellow streaks on top. Webs were very thin, but strong and concentrical. Saw something like this on your site, and I'm GLAD to know they're not poisonous to humans. Nonetheless, we watch only, and don't get near them for safety's sake.
