Comments: Spiders and Daddy-long-legs are both in the Class Arachnida BUT Daddy-long-legs are not spiders. They are of the Order Phalangida, which have segmented abdomens while spiders are of the Order Araneida which has a strongly constricted base and almost always unsegmented abdomen. Some other Orders in Arachnida are Mites&Ticks, Wind-scorpions, and Scorpions. You may use the Peterson Field Guide to Insects by Donald J. Borror and Richard E. White as a reference to confirm this.
